So, watching Mockingjay today, I thought I had to bring this up. While Coin’s making a speech about rescuing the victors, they show shots of the crowd listening, and I was taken aback by Effie’s. She doesn’t care that this means a step towards a free Panem. She doesn’t care that the rebellion’s becoming successful. Why? Because she loves Peeta too. As much as Katniss does. She can’t be happy about the rescuing of the victors because he’s hijacked and that breaks her heart because he was the closest thing to a son she’s ever had.
