Read: June 2014

Summary: Crank. Glass. Ice. Crystal. Whatever you call it, it’s all the same: a monster. And once it’s got hold of you, this monster will never let you go. Kristina thinks she can control it. Now with a baby to care for, she’s determined to be the one deciding when and how much, the one calling the shots. But the monster is too strong, and before she knows it, Kristina is back in its grips. She needs the monster to keep going, to face the pressures of day-to-day life. She needs it to feel alive. Once again the monster takes over Kristina’s life and she will do anything for it, including giving up the one person who gives her the unconditional love she craves – her baby. The sequel to Crank, this is the continuing story of Kristina and her descent back to hell. Told in verse, it’s a harrowing and disturbing look at addiction and the damage that it inflicts.

Rating: 5/5

This is the second book in the Crank series and I thought it was great. It picks up where the last book left off and goes on to tell you more of Kristina’s story. Of her fall back into meth addiction. I thought it was really good. It is again written in poetry and I just wow. It left me breathless. It was so good you know books that change you? That’s what this was that was how good it was. You get to see a worse side of Kristina’s personality as she gets worse and then there is Trey and Brad as well. Trey she meets through Robin and when she gets bad again and her mom kicks her out of the house she goes to live with Brad who is Trey’s cousin. I thought the characters were great. I just wow I really like this book and I’m sorry this review is short and not that good.
